KM #192 - Summer Escapade; 23rd Jul - 27th Jul 11

I am suddenly in the mood to do a proper post of my summer vacation w/ Rabb, so here it is!!

*Fickled-minded*

Sometimes 2 weeks ago, we were now in Shilin NM eating and shopping.. ..
*snapped back to reality*

23rd July 2011

Rise but not shine, en-route to pick Rabb up before heading to the airport and also had breaky w/ mum and dad before boarding the flight at 0710hr.

After 4hours plus of flight, we finally touched down at Tao Yuan Int'l Airport about 1230pm or later(cannot really remember).

We went to purchase the Prepaid Sim Card and Bus tickets immediately after leaving the custom.

The service provider we took was 台湾大哥大 and we opt for unlimited access of data-roaming but lesser talk-time.

Do bring along your I/C or other identification card as it is also needed for verification purposes besides your passport. It is really easy to purchase these cards, just tell them your needs and they will advise you which data plan is suitable for you and just leave it to them to handle. All you have to do is pay and wait to enjoy unlimited date-roam access.

Mode of transport to hotel.

 There are a few ways to get to your hotel. 

1) By Bus; either to Taipei Main Station (MTR) / directly to your hotel area ($140NT)

2) By cab (more chor - $1000NT)

Of cos we "tah buh" larx, cos cheaper, save $$ mahz and the bus ticket counter is only beside the mobile counters.

We got no time to waste after purchasing the bus tickets because the auntie said bus will be arriving in 10 mins time, arbo must wait for 20mins for another 1.

It is easy to purchase the bus tickets. All you have to do is tell them the name of hotel(Chinese name prefered) that you are staying, pay $$ and go to the respectively terminal no. and wait for the bus.

The 1st half of the journey was a comfortable ride because it was a Coach. Suddenly ½ way thru, the bus captain came up calling out a whole list of hotels and told us to get down and proceed to another bus behind. And the bus is machiam like our SBS bus lorx, there is no proper storage for luggage.

He had to stand there w/ our luggage all the way till we reached 西門町.

 Please be super attentive during the ride because the bus captain will call out the name of hotels upon reaching every stop. And that’s not all, he will also advise you on the directions to your hotel.

So nice, rite?!

We had no trouble locating Rainbow Hotel because it was just right infront of us after we alighted.

After almost ½ day of air + land travel, we finally stepped into the lively, young and buzzing

 西門町。
*So excited*

We wasted no time again after settling down in the room because we were far behind the planned schedule.
